Frequently Asked Questions

  • The acupuncture style I practice is gentle and suitable for all ages and sensitivities. Even individuals with a fear of needles can receive treatment using this style. I am personally sensitive to needles, so I empathize with any hesitation or concerns you may have.

  • The answer to this question varies as every person is unique, and each condition depends on factors such as lifestyle, genetics, onset, and duration. Acupuncture can effectively treat a growing list of symptoms and conditions, and I often suggest that people try it in combination with their regular healthcare practices. (Please see the "Conditions Treated" section below for more information.)

  • Every individual's need for treatments is different. My aim is to alleviate your symptoms with each session. The number of treatments required may vary depending on the condition. An acute condition may need 3-6 sessions to sustain long-lasting results, while a chronic condition may require regular treatment over several months to help restore balance to the body.

  • To provide treatment, I will require access to your abdomen, back, and from the knee/elbow down to the hands/feet. It is recommended that you wear loose-fitting clothing or bring clothing such as shorts and a tank top that you can change into for your comfort.

  • My acupuncture style is gentle and suitable for people of all ages, from children to the elderly. Some individuals avoid acupuncture due to the misconception that it is painful, but that is not true. It is crucial to find a comfortable acupuncture style that works for you.

  • Before booking an appointment, it is important to check with your insurance provider to see if acupuncture is covered under your plan.

I will provide you with a receipt after your treatment, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please note that at this time, I do not offer direct billing.

  • I use single-use, sterilized needles of the highest quality in my acupuncture practice, which are very thin. The needles I use are not the same as those used for injection, and are far smaller and thinner - some as thin as a strand of hair! I determine the appropriate combination of points for you based on your individual needs.

  • Moxibustion, a form of heat therapy, is used in conjunction with acupuncture to offer a warm and nourishing treatment by burning mugwort plant on specific acupuncture points. In Japan, moxibustion is considered an integral part of acupuncture, and I incorporate it into my treatments when appropriate. Please note that although moxibustion is applied directly on acupuncture points, it does not cause burns on the skin. You may experience a slight warming sensation or no sensation at all.

  • I accept debit, credit, cash or e transfer

  • No, at this time I do not offer direct billing. I will provide you with a payment receipt to submit to your insurance provider.
